Nexans North America maintains 12 locations performing manufacturing, warehousing / logistics and administrative functions throughout Canada and the United States, employing more than 1500 people. The primary markets addressed by Nexans North America include energy, shipbuilding, aerospace, military, automotive, industrial and LAN. The North American headquarters are located in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Four divisions comprise North American operations: Energy, Berk-Tek, Electronics Cables and The Valley Group. Additionally, Nexans’ rod mill, located in Montreal, provides vertical integration by supplying copper rod for cable production.
Nexans Energy Division
Nexans Energy Division designs and produces a wide range of cables used in power, industrial, construction and communications applications. ISO 9001 registered facilities in Fergus, Ontario and Chester, New York, produce low voltage building wire, commercial cable and industrial cable. Our facility in Weyburn, Saskatchewan produces medium voltage cables.
Nexans – Berk-Tek
For more than 45 years, Berk-Tek has been a leading manufacturer of more than 100 different network copper and fiber optic cable products designed to transport high-speed voice, data and video transmission. High-performance copper LAN cables are produced in the New Holland, PA facility, and fiber optic cables are produced at a location in Fuquay-Varina, NC.
Nexans Electronics Cables
Located in Elm City, North Carolina, Nexans Electronics Cable (EC) manufactures high performance wire and cable, and is an AS9100 certified supplier of military, aerospace, shipboard, industrial and automotive cable.
The Valley Group
Located in Ridgefield, CT, The Valley Group (TVG) is the world leader in dynamic overhead transmission line monitoring services. The company’s CAT-1 product provides utilities with monitoring information to help ensure maximized line usage and to measure and monitor line integrity to avoid service interruptions and outages.
The Rod Mill
Nexans has produced copper rod at its Montreal East facility for over 60 years. Since its start as a hot bar mill in 1931, and its modernization as a continuous cast mill in 1982, the facility has produced over 3.5 million tons of copper rod.
