Single compact stranded (Class B or SIW Compact) ACM aluminum conductor with extra thickness of low temperature moisture resisting EXELENE* cross-linked polyethylene insulation.
Rated 1000 volts.  LEAD FREE.  RoHS Compliant.

 

Application

For direct earth burial (with  protection as  required by  inspecting  authority).**
For exposed wiring where exposed to weather with sunlight resistant insulation. Standard Black #8 AWG and larger is sunlight resistant and marked "SR", coloured insulation is NOT.

For service entrance above or below ground.**


Minimum recommended installation temperature minus 40°C (with suitable handling procedures).
Maximum conductor temperature 90°C.

**Direct buried installations must comply with C.E. Code Rules 12-012 and 4-004.

***For 3-wire 120/240 and 120/208V residential services or sub-services, the allowable ampacity for sizes #6, #2 and #4/0 AWG aluminum shall be 60, 100 and 200 amperes respectively. In these cases, the 5% adjustment per C.E. Code Rule 8-106(1) cannot be applied.
