Nexans Awarded Top Cable Manufacturer in Canada
Dec 5, 2025
Nexans has been awarded as the top cable manufacturer in Canada by Manufacturing Outlook for 2025. The reception of the award showcases the dedication and commitment of the team in making this past year so successful.
As a pure player in electrification, Nexans has consistently delivered the highest quality wire and cable to Canada’s communities for well over 100 years. The group is especially committed to driving Canada into the future as emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and electric vehicles drive the need for grid expansion and more electrification all over the world.
“ This award underscores the Nexans’ team’s commitment to our customers and our communities in which we both live and serve. None of what we do would be possible without the exceptional work of our employees across Canada. ”
Tim King
President and Managing Director, PWR-Grid and Connect North America, NexansDatacentres are the primary driver of this transformation, predicted to account for nearly 14% of Canada’s power needs by 2030. Nexans is perfectly positioned to deliver the wire and cable solutions for this market as well as the markets surrounding datacentres.
Nexans is also committed to sustainability amidst the challenges facing large scale demand increases due to electrification. For scope 1 reductions, we have lowered our heating at several of our plants including using building envelope sealing, air curtains, updating temperature sensors and upgrading plant ventilation systems.
For scope 2 reductions, we’ve installed capacitor banks to improve the power factors of our machines, optimized the heating requirements for rod surface treatment at our Montreal facility, and converted DC motors to more efficient AC motors.
Nexans will continue to live up to its reputation as the top cable manufacturer in Canada and we look forward to driving positive change across wire and cable in 2026.
